About the Artist

Hello! I'm a mixed-media artist who loves all forms of creativity - from paint, pen and collage to digital design and contemporary stitched textile work. For all my dabbling, I always return to pen and paper, and when I draw I love portraying the quirky side of life.

After studying textiles, printmaking and photography at Chester University, where I also became fascinated with digital design, I got lost for a decade in the world of publishing and journalism. Then, one day in 2015, I remembered that I used to love drawing! So I picked up a pencil and embarked on a 30-day blog challenge (don't laugh, that work makes me cringe now BUT I want to encourage others - we all start somewhere, and an art practice really is all about PRACTICE).

Since then, I've produced my illustrations on greetings cards and prints, I've enjoyed showing a variety of mixed media work at my local annual Open Studios Arts Trail in Rochester, and I've collaborated on logos and designs for print. I've even challenged myself to develop my picture-book illustrative style in another blog challenge

Currently, I am focusing on my digitally-coloured pen and graphite illustrations, and if you think we could collaborate on a project, I'd love to hear from you! I'm the one hiding in the corner with a sketchbook and pen...

Thanks for stopping by.
